Applicants for a Saudi Umrah e-Visa must be Muslims. A record of meningitis vaccinations that was issued no more than three years before to the journey to Saudi Arabia and at least ten days prior. A certificate from a mosque or Islamic organization attesting to the visitor's Muslim status is required if they have converted to Islam but do not have a Muslim name. Fathers, husbands, or other male relatives (Mahram) are required to accompany women and children.

Either a woman's marriage certificate or the child's birth certificate with the names of both parents listed is required additionally, the Mahram has to board the same plane as his wife and children in order to enter and exit Saudi Arabia. If a woman over 45 receives a formal document from her Mahram authorizing her to travel with the designated group for the Hajj, she can do it without a Mahram.
